Supply Chain Applications
An external application example for DeltaCabinet is an OEM who manufactures proprietary products and has proprietary designs that must be shared with it's supplier base.
Design information from the OEM to the supplier can be filed in a safe and secure place. It can also be securely shared with the proper purchasing and engineering people at the OEM. Feature and performance data can be made readily available to the right people in a secured fashion. The result is improved product design and less rework because parts are made to the correct revision level.
Purchase orders and delivery schedule information can be shared with the supplier. Each supplier receives only the delivery information pertinent to them. The result is improved on-time delivery and performance.
Engineering data is also made available to Quality Assurance so appropriate quality assurance and performance measurement processes can be developed. These documents can be filed in the same cabinet as the engineering and material specification data but in a different drawer and/or folder. QA metrics and data can be easily shared with the supplier. The result is a product that meets the specifications with improved cycle times, less rework and fewer delays for the product launch.
If the supplier is a job shop, the OEM typically owns any custom jigs, dies and tooling that is used to make the product. All the design information about those special items can be kept in the DeltaCabinet and linked to the product it was designed for.
